Privacy policy

2. In brief
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or marketing services.
- Fonts and images are served from our own web space; visiting the site sends no data to Google Fonts, map services or social networks.
- We only use the details you send us through the enquiry form, by email, phone or WhatsApp to handle your enquiry and booking.
3. Visiting the website and hosting
The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). When you visit it, Netlify processes technically necessary data in server log files: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer and browser identifier. This is needed to deliver the website and protect it against misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not analyse this data. Netlify processes it on our behalf under a data processing agreement and keeps it only as long as needed for operation and security.
4. Enquiry form and email
When you use the enquiry form, we process what your enquiry is about (a stay or a voucher), your name, email address, optionally your phone number, arrival date, number of nights and your message. The details are sent and stored via the Netlify Forms service and forwarded by email to our mailbox (Google Workspace, Google Ireland Limited). We use them to answer your enquiry and send you an offer (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, pre-contractual steps). Spam protection uses a field that is invisible to people and no cookies.
If no booking follows, we delete your enquiry no later than 12 months after our last contact.
5. Booking and stay
To handle your booking we process your contact details, the details of your stay, payment information (bank transfer) and our correspondence with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). As an accommodation provider we are legally required to keep a guest register (Austrian Registration Act) and to retain accounting records (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We keep invoices and booking records for seven years (section 132 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code, BAO) and guest register data for as long as the Registration Act requires. If you book through Airbnb, we receive your details from Airbnb, and Airbnb's privacy policy also applies.
6. Phone and WhatsApp
If you call us or write to us on WhatsApp, we process your phone number and the content of your message to deal with your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). With WhatsApp, the provider WhatsApp Ireland Limited also processes data under its own terms; if you would rather avoid this, please email us instead.
7. Recipients
Your data is only shared as far as necessary with:
- Netlify, Inc. (hosting and form service)
- Google Ireland Limited (email and office applications, Google Workspace)
- our bank (incoming payments) and our tax advisers
- public authorities, where we are legally required to do so
We have data processing agreements with our service providers (Art. 28 GDPR).
8. Transfers to the USA
Netlify, Inc. is based in the USA, and Google may also transfer data to the USA. Both companies are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR), supplemented by standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
9. Links to other websites
Our website contains plain links, for example to Google Maps, Instagram or press articles. No data is transferred until you click such a link; the privacy policy of that provider then applies.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Please write to office@glassylodging.com. If you believe we are not processing your data lawfully, you can complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
11. Security
The website is only available over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only people who need enquiry and booking data to do their work have access to it.
12. Changes
We update this policy when our website or the law changes. The version published here applies.
